YOUNGSTOWN - Mahoning Valley native Jake Giuriceo (16-1-1, 3 KOs) will step back in the ring Sept. 29 in Maplewood, Minn. at the Aldrich Arena against the fourth-ranked lightweight contender in the nation Jason Litzau (29-3, 22 KOs).
The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds and is being promoted by Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Joy Boy Promotions. It will be for the interim WBA/NABA lightweight championship belt.
Giuriceo is coming of a majority decision defeat to Michael Clark - the first loss of his professional career.
Litzau started his pro career 19-0 before falling in 2008 to Robert Guerrero. More recently Litzau was knocked out by Adrien Broner (20-0) in a bout televised on ESPN. He has fought just once since the defeat earning a knockout victory over Ira Terry (24-9).
Niles native Billy Lyle is also scheduled to be on the card.
