Beavers fall, 4-1

CALCUTTA Jordan Reinke won the lone match of the day for the Beavers as the Canfield girls' tennis team earned a 4-1 win Monday at Beaver Local.

Reinke defeated Dominque Weldon, 6-1, 6-0, in their No. 3 singles match.

For the Cardinals, Ashley Kaleel defeated Kristi Kline, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, and Taya El-Hayek defeated Kayla Laurich, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

In doubles, the Cardinals' No. 1 team of Jessica Houser and Paige Modarelli defeated Jessly Taylor and Nataly Chamberlain, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, and the No. 2 team of Radhika Taneja and Marissa Pinto defeated the Beavers' team of Samantha Bishop and Ella Polen, 6-2, 6-0.

Beaver Local will play Brookfield at 11 a.m. today at home.
