Bowling league to hold meeting Sunday

EAST LIVERPOOL - There will be a meeting of the Cats & Dogs Bowling League at 6 p.m. Sunday at Walnut Lanes. Any team or individual wanting to bowl is asked to call 330-385-0176 or 330-385-2852.

Meeks wins last catfish tournament

CHESTER - Rick Meeks of Wellsville was the winner of the Chester Newell Sportsmen's Club Catfish Tournament held this past weekend. Meeks' fish measured 42 inches, add he received $120 for his live fish. Bill Orgovan of Burgettstown and Greg Spelich of Austintown tied for the second prize of $120. The second prize was based on a blind draw for the fish measuring closet to a number between 18 and 36 inches. Their fish measured 29.25 inches. There were 40 contestants at the tournament. This was the final tournament of the year. The sportsmen club wants to thank all of the fisherman who participated in the tournaments.

Fishing tournament to be held

NEW MANCHESTER - Tomlinson Run Park is holding a fishing tournament. Registration starts at noon at the boat docks. The paired category will include children 14 and under accompanied by an adult. Registration is free for anglers 14 and under. The cost is $3 for adults. Prizes for first, second and third palce will be given out in each category. Prizes includ Cabelals gift cards, park and cash prizes. For information, call the park at 304-564-3651.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool Men's Church Bowling League will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. today at Tri-State Lanes. Each team should have a representative present.

Wellsville fall sports passes now available

WELLSVILLE - Wellsville season tickets and senior citizen passes for fall sports will be available during the following times:?Aug. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HS athletic office; Aug. 24, 12:30-3 p.m. at the HS athletic office. Prices:?Adult football ($25), Student football ($20), Family football ($75), Adult volleyball ($45), Student volleyball ($30), Family volleyball ($120).

Beaver Local holding pasta dinner Aug. 31

CALCUTTA - There will be a pasta dinner before the Crestview at Beaver Local football game Aug. 31 from 4-7 p.m. in the Beaver Local High School cafeteria. Dinner includes: penne and meatballs, salad, roll, and drink. Cost is $7. Tickets are available at Campbell's Signs, at the high school office or at the door. Carryout is available. The event is sponsored by Beaver Local Baseball.

Co-ed softball tournament to be held

NEW MANCHESTER - There will be a co-ed softball tournament Saturday with proceeds supporting the Oak Glen Wrestling Team. The tournament will be played at the Parks and Rec ball field on Gas Valley Rd. The entry will be $100 per team and it's a five-guy and five-girl format. Single elimination or double elimination will be depended on the number of teams that enter. It will be a traditional 1-1 count format instead of 1 pitch and you may bat up to 12 people if it is 6 guys and 6 girls. We are also looking to have a concession available. Southern Local selling fall passes

SALINEVILLE - Southern Local fall sports passes are now on sale through the atheltic department from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $20 for adult football, $40 for adult volleyball, $15 for students, $10 for athletes, $65 for family football, $75 for family volleyball, $125 for high school fall family, $170 for junior/senior high fall family, $12 for junior high football and $16 for junior high volleyball. Reserved seating passes can still be purchased for $40. Senior citizen passes for those living in the district are available at the superintendent's office.

Bowling league meeting to be held

Team Mojo's Back to School 5K Run & Walk
