Oak Glen fans asked to wear gold

NEW MANCHESTER - There will be a "Gold Rush" at Oak Glen's first home football game at the new stadium. Fans are asked to wear gold shirts to show their support for the team and celebrate the new stadium. The first 200 fans to enter the stadium on Aug. 31 wearing a gold Oak Glen shirt will receive a commemorative Bearable Towel. Towels will also be available for purchase at the game. This season's gold shirts can be purchased at the New Cumberland Pharmacy or Chester's Citizen Drug Store before the game or at the shirt shack the day of the game for $10.

Beavers, Potters football tickets on sale

EAST LIVERPOOL - Pre-sale tickets for the Beaver Local at East Liverpool football game are currently on sale. Tickets can be purchased in downtown East Liverpool at TJD?Sports and All?Sports. Tickets can be purchased in?Calcutta at Campbell?Signs and at 7 & 30?Superette. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets are available until 3 p.m. today.

Oak Glen raises ticket prices

NEW MANCHESTER - Oak Glen High School announces ticket prices for the upcoming school year have increased by $1. All varsity events will be $6 for adults and $4 for students with the exception of varsity football where all tickets are $6 at the gate. Student passes are on sale at the High School Main Office for a cost of $30. and covers admission to all regular season (excludes OVAC or WVSSAC tournament games). Also a new 10-game ticket plan has been introduced. For a cost of $50, one may purchase a 10-game ticket plan good for general admission to any Oak Glen sporting event for the 2012-2013 school year (excludes OVAC and WVSSAC tournament games) which saves the purchaser a total of $10. The 10-game plan tickets and be used the same as any ticket purchased on game day and are available in the high school main office beginning today after noon. Reserved seat season tickets for the 2012 football season can be purchased for a cost of $25 per seat and include all five home games and are available for sale at the high school main office beginning today after noon through today. Finally tickets for the Golden Bears' opener tonight vs. Edison at Harding Stadium in Steubenville are currently on sale at the high school main office until noon today for a cost of $10 and will admit the bearer to both the Oak Glen vs Edison game and the Big Red vs Washington D.C. Woodrow Wilson game immediately preceeding.

Wellsville fall sports passes now available

WELLSVILLE - Wellsville season tickets and senior citizen passes for fall sports will be available during the following times:?Aug. 24, 12:30-3 p.m. at the HS athletic office. Prices:?Adult football ($25), Student football ($20), Family football ($75), Adult volleyball ($45), Student volleyball ($30), Family volleyball ($120).

Beaver Local holding pasta dinner Aug. 31

CALCUTTA - There will be a pasta dinner before the Crestview at Beaver Local football game Aug. 31 from 4-7 p.m. in the Beaver Local High School cafeteria. Dinner includes: penne and meatballs, salad, roll, and drink. Cost is $7. Tickets are available at Campbell's Signs, at the high school office or at the door. Carryout is available. The event is sponsored by Beaver Local Baseball.

Co-ed softball tournament to be held

NEW MANCHESTER - There will be a co-ed softball tournament Saturday with proceeds supporting the Oak Glen Wrestling Team. The tournament will be played at the Parks and Rec ball field on Gas Valley Rd. The entry will be $100 per team and it's a five-guy and five-girl format. Single elimination or double elimination will be depended on the number of teams that enter. It will be a traditional 1-1 count format instead of 1 pitch and you may bat up to 12 people if it is 6 guys and 6 girls. We are also looking to have a concession available. Southern Local selling fall passes

SALINEVILLE - Southern Local fall sports passes are now on sale through the atheltic department from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $20 for adult football, $40 for adult volleyball, $15 for students, $10 for athletes, $65 for family football, $75 for family volleyball, $125 for high school fall family, $170 for junior/senior high fall family, $12 for junior high football and $16 for junior high volleyball. Reserved seating passes can still be purchased for $40. Senior citizen passes for those living in the district are available at the superintendent's office.

Team Mojo's Back to School 5K Run & Walk

WELLSVILLE -?Registrations are still be accepted for Team Mojo Foundation's Back To School 5K Run & Walk on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. Start and finish at Wellsville High School. $10 for kids, $20 for adults. Please bring a donation of new school supplies to benefit local kids in need. Register online at or pick up a form at Center Pharmacy in Wellsville.
