SALEM - The Salem Area Amateur Radio Association plans to meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Salem Public Library.

Log House Museum open

COLUMBIANA - The Log House Museum on the Square will be open this weekend during the Columbiana Street Fair from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Special exhibits are the new church display and Jack Dowd's loan of Columbiana memorabilia.

Tickets will be available for the historical society's annual quilt raffle. This year's quilt is a "Tulip" pattern and was made by Carol Roessler of Columbiana and Pat Firestone of Salem. Also available will be the DVD of Columbiana in the 1950's, "Bob Clark's Cartoon Book" of cartoons that appeared in the Ledger and the "History of Columbiana 1805-2005."

St. Paul Pasta Bowl dinner

SALEM - Tickets are still available for St. Paul School Home and School Association's Pasta Bowl dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the Salem vs. Niles football game, Cost is $7 to select three pasta entrees, bread, salad and a beverage. The dinner will showcase pasta from Hickory Rib, Ricky's English Pub, Pizza Hut, Pizza Joe's, Mason's Steak House, Guilford Lake Grille, Salem Community Hospital and A Byte of Pasta by Salem Computer Center. The dinner will be held in St. Paul School gym. Baked goods and 10-week raffle tickets will be available for purchase. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

Spaghetti dinner fund raiser

WINONA - A spaghetti dinner fund raiser for Don Haueter will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Winona Friends Church. Haueter was diagnosed with cancer and has no insurance. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.

Columbiana 2002 reunion

COLUMBIANA -The Columbiana High School Class of 2002 will host its 10th-year reunion at 1 p.m. Saturday at Michelle Crook's home, 59 Duquesne St., Columbiana. Classmates are to bring a side dish to share and a lawn chair. Reservations are requested by calling 330-360-8198.

Columbiana 1977 reunion

COLUMBIANA -The Columbiana High School Class of 1977 will hold its 35th-year reunion at 5 p.m. Saturday at Jerry Angel's house, 46249 Beaver Lake Road, New Waterford. Those attending are to bring a coverdish and lawn chair. For information call Joann (Crowl) Smith at 330-360-3736.

Rite of Christian Initiation

SALEM - A special, brief inquiry session for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Smith Grange breakfast

BELOIT - The public is invited to a country-style breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Smith Grange. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Carryouts are available.

LISBON - The Beaver Local Board of Education plans to meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 in room two at the high school.

'Christmas Carol' auditions

COLUMBIANA - Auditions for "The Christmas Carol" will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 and 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at Main Street Theater, 5 N. Main St. Callbacks begin at 3 p.m. Sept. 16. Script reading and some singing for auditions is required. Crown Theater Productions show dates for "The Christmas Carol" are Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 2, 7, 8, 9. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays.

Public Employee Retirees

LISBON - Columbiana County Chapter 59 of Public Employee Retirees Inc. will meet for lunch at noon Sept. 10 at the Taste of Country. The business session follows at 1 p.m.

LISBON -The Lisbon Exempted Village Board of Education plans to meet at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 in the board room at the BOE office.

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at Adele's Place.

Columbiana Senior Citizens

COLUMBIANA - Columbiana Senior Citizens will meet at 10 a.m. twice this month at the Upper Room. A pizza luncheon will be served at the Sept. 11 meeting. Members are asked to bring a sack lunch to the meeting on Sept. 25.

Beaver Valley rabies clinic

MONACA, Pa. -The Beaver County Humane Society will conduct its final rabies clinic of the year on Sept. 15 at the shelter, adjacent to the Beaver Valley Mall in Center Township. Extended hours for this clinic only will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cats and dogs must be at least 3 months of age and must be on a leash or in a carrier. Cost is $10 per animal. PA state law mandates that any dog or cat, with the exception of barn cats, 3 months of age or older must be vaccinated against rabies. For information call the humane society at 724-775-5801.

Swim lesson program

SALEM - The Salem Community Center will host another session of its swim lesson program Oct. 6 and running every Saturday until Nov. 24. Six learn to swim levels are available, along with a Mommy and Me level for infants and their parent. Cost is $70 for non-members and $55 for members. A multiple child discount is available. BELOIT- The West Branch Local Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the high school Library to implement the last, best and final offer for a successor collective bargaining agreement with the West Branch Education Association for the period of July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2014.

Leetonia Storytime set
