'Chicken on the Run' dinner sold today
SALEM - "Chicken on the Run" drive-thru chicken dinners will be sold from 4 to 6 p.m. today, until sold out, at the First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway Ave. The meal includes a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $7. Drivers are asked to arrive to the south entrance of the church.
Community breakfast will be served
NORTH BENTON - An all-you-can-eat community breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the North Benton Presbyterian Church. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 6 to 12.
Legion Post 76 holding steak fry
SEBRING - The American Legion Post 76 of Sebring at 395 W. California Ave. will host its monthly steak fry from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $13 for strip steak, $14 for ribeye, and $15 for porterhouse. The dinner includes a baked potato and salad. Onions and mushrooms are an additional 50 cents. Fish frys start on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8.50 which includes fries, cole slaw and a roll. Other new menu items are shrimp and chicken tender baskets for $6.50.
The next scheduled monthly breakfast is Oct. 7. Proceeds will go to the Sebring Historical Society.

Club offering God's Quad Quartet concert
SALEM - First Christian Church's Just Older Youth Club is sponsoring a free concert with God's Quad Quartet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1151 E. Sixth St. The public is invited to this performance which offers traditional barbershop-type gospel music.

Budget Commission will hold hearings
