Disney car raffle

September 6, 2012
Salem News

From left, Salem High School band president Hobie Butcher, secretary Rachael Shockey, vice president Megan Daley, and drum major Mike Popa appear with a car at Donnell Ford Lincoln of Salem to promote a band booster raffle to raise money for the band's November trip to Walt Disney World. Donnell Ford Lincoln will have a car on display during the Salem-Niles football game Friday at Reilly Stadium where band boosters will sell tickets at a cost of $20 per ticket or three for $50. Tickets can be purchased at the band booster's concession stand at the stadium during any sporting event from now through Oct. 19, the day of the drawing. Tickets are also available at the Salem UPS Store and Price to Sell Music. A ticket will be drawn at halftime of the Salem-Louisville game, with the winner getting their choice of a 2013 Ford Escape or a 2012 Ford F-150 from the Salem dealership. The goal is to sell 1,500 to 2,000 tickets to make enough money to buy the vehicle and help pay for the Disney trip. If not enough tickets are sold, the raffle will become a 50/50 drawing. Not pictured was band historian Marty Roth. (Submitted photo)
