Tigers to 4-0 with win over Clippers

COLUMBIANA - Wellsville and Columbiana put in some long hours in Thursday's marathon 25-21, 18-25, 24-26, 25-22, 16-14 Tiger victory at Columbiana High School.

Maleya Fultz led the Tigers with 20 kills. McKenna Pierson had four blocks, while Sara Skinner had seven blocks. Jayla Martin had nine kills. Brittany Clendenning had seven kills, while Angelica Scarbino had 25 digs and Shayna Hamilton had 40 assists.

Wellsville is 4-0, 3-0 in the Inter-Tri County League lower tier.

Cassidy Stoddard had 29 points, 11 aces, nine kills, 32 assists and 12 digs to lead the Clippers, 3-2, 3-1.

Shayla Ray added 15 kills and 14 digs. Megan Cutlip had 16 kills. Bri Gingher chipped in 33 digs.

Wellsville won the jayvee match 22-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Rachel Drysdale had 14 kills for the Tiger reserves. Tori Vivo had 30 digs for the Clippers.

Wellsville is at Lisbon on Saturday. Columbiana is at Lowellville on Tuesday.
