Fund raiser planned at Winona Friends
WINONA - A spaghetti dinner fund raiser for Don Haueter will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Winona Friends Church.
Haueter was diagnosed with cancer and has no insurance. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
Community breakfast will be served
NORTH BENTON - An all-you-can-eat community breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11 a.m. today at the North Benton Presbyterian Church.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 6 to 12.
Drive-thru chicken dinners will be served
NORTH LIMA - The Calvary United Methodist Church at 12062 South Ave. Ext. will hold its drive-thru chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Sept. 13, or until sold out.
The meal consists of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie.

A percentage of the profits goes to mission projects. The church is located in North Lima at the junctions of Route 164 and 165.
Damascus ?United serving breakfast
DAMASCUS - An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at the Damascus United Methodist Church.
Proceeds will go in the youth director's fund. The next breakfast is Oct. 20.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults offered
SALEM - A special, brief inquiry session for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults begins at 5:30 p.m. today and 12:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Anyone wishing to learn about the Catholic faith or to join the church is welcome and asked to use the Ohio Avenue entrance.

Concert will be held at First Christian
SALEM - First Christian Church's Just Older Youth Club is sponsoring a free concert with God's Quad Quartet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1151 E. Sixth St.
The public is invited to this performance which offers traditional barbershop-type gospel music.
Believers Christian Fellowship holding study
SALEM - The Believers Christian Fellowship Church will begin an in-depth study of "Breaking the Strongholds in Your Life" based on the materials written by Marilyn Hickey and Joyce Meyer at 7 p.m. Sept. 12.
Coffee and tea will be provided. The public is invited.
Damascus Friends offering fitness program
DAMASCUS -The Damascus Friends Church fitness ministry Dynamically Fit in Christ is entering its 11th year of fitness classes at DFC.
In celebration, free bottled water will be given to each class participant, along with opportunities to win free classes, and is open to all women in the surrounding communities.
"We've come a long way," said Elaine Owen, fitness director, stated. "Sept. 10, 2002, we began with one class per week, Aerobics Plus.
The need had already been established, and we definitely knew there was an interest, when 26 women came to work out. Soon thereafter another night was added."
Currently, there are six classes per week for women of all ages and fitness levels.
- Monday and Wednesday, 5 p.m. Zumba Fitness, with Rachel Hancock, licensed Zumba instructor.
- Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m., Healthy and Fit Over 50, a strength/core conditioning/flexibility training for ages 50 and beyond
- Tuesday, 6 p.m., Aerobics Plus, consisting of different forms of aerobics, along with strength training, core conditioning and stretching.
- Thursday, 5:30 p.m., Pump it up, a cutting edge weight training class which will pump up the metabolism. Prices have not been raised in 10 years. Child care is available for evening classes.
