REYNOLDBURG - Isobel M. Edgerton, 87, of Wesley Ridge, formerly of Lisbon, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Edgerton was born Oct. 9, 1924 in Rogers, a daughter of the late Roy C. and Grace A. (George) Shively, and had lived in Lisbon most of her life before moving to Reynoldsburg a few years ago.
A graduate of Kent State University, she worked as the librarian and media specialist at Lisbon David Anderson High School for 21 years, retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Edgerton was a member of the Lisbon First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David Edgerton, whom she married June 22, 1947; sons, David George "DG" (Cosette) Edgerton of Galena and Thomas J. (Jan) Edgerton of Pickerington; sister, Virginia (William) Rigel of Warren; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Shively and granddaughter, Amy Edgerton.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Private burial will take place Monday in the Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1pm to 3pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
