DAMASCUS - Members of the Damascus Community Center Park Board met Aug. 27. Numerous maintenance details were reported completed including installing a new bench swing from the Dave Rauch Memorial, clean-up and park rental. A brief report from timber harvest consultant, Jim Elze, was read. He said the harvesting operation was successful and commended the park board for moving ahead with the project in order to maintain the health of the forest. During the summer, pavilions were used and continue to be reserved for family picnics and reunions throughout the fall. For reservations call 330-537-4010. A fall pancake breakfast in the park is being planned for Oct. 13. The public is welcome to the next board meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Community Center.
