SALEM - Deborah Kay Bowman, 60, of 1385 Sevakeen Circle, Salem died at 7:20 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at her home following a battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 11, 1951 in Salem, the daughter of Donna (Brown) Emelo and the late John Emelo.
Mrs. Bowman was a 1969 graduate of Salem High School and a graduate of the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing. She had been employed as a cashier at Dollar General for several years and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Her husband, Jeffrey L. Bowman, whom she married in 1986, survives her along with a stepson, Jeffrey "CJ" Bowman of Hawaii; a daughter, Shawnee Rose Bowman of Salem; a stepdaughter, Melissa Lynn Roberts of Kansas; and brothers, Daryal and Caryal Emelo of Salem; her mother, Donna Emelo of Salem; and seven step-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Per her request there will be no funeral service.
