Leetonia FD asking residents to help with funds for new equipment

LEETONIA- Residents serviced by the Leetonia Fire Department are being asked to help fund the purchase of new equipment.

The volunteer department last week mailed out donation request forms as part of a two-week campaign seeking assistance to update and purchase new equipment. Residents are being asked to return the forms with the donations by the end of next week to help reach the goal of $10,000. Those who donate will receive a free 8-by-10 inch family portrait.

According to Chief Larry Hephner Jr., the money raised during the campaign will go toward equipment such as air pack bottles that will help make the department more efficient and enable it to offer a better service to residents.

"We need to keep the equipment updated in order to do that," he said.

Hephner said a professional photographer will be at the fire station on or around Oct. 20 to take the portraits. An appointment will be arranged by telephone.

For information contact Hephner at 330-692-3024.
