WELLSVILLE - Two Sixth Street residents were arrested on drug charges following a Thursday morning raid on their apartment by the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.

Christie L. Thrasher, 31, and Jason N. Barnes, 25, were both charged with possessing heroin and crack cocaine based on illegal drugs found in the apartment during the raid.

DTF Director Dan Downard said his agents, assisted by the county sheriff's office and Wellsville police department, arrived at 106 Sixth St. with a search warrant about 10 a.m. and found Thrasher and Barnes inside. He said it appeared as if they had been sleeping.

"We had been receiving numerous tips about suspicious activity in and around the residence," Downard said.

He was unsure of the quanity of illegal drugs seized, but they also found drug paraphernalia commonly used for preparing drugs to sell.

Also assisting in the raid were drug dogs from the St. Clair Township police department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
