SALEM - Mary E. Cain, 86, of Salem, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Pleasant View North Retirement Center in Salem.
She was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Shanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Porter and Mae (Jendervin) Gerber.
Mrs. Cain was a nurse at the Salem Community Hospital and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Her husband, Joseph Edward Cain, whom she married Aug. 7, 1954, preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2006.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane (Hank) Telep of Middleburg Heights, Maryann (Mark) Hough of Cleveland, Tenn., and Kathleen (Jerry) McCartney of Salem; a sister, Karen Norris of Columbus, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Megan, Brooke and Krista McCartney and Courtney and Christopher Telep.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with a prayer service held at 5:45 p.m.
