COLUMBIANA -Lillian E. Bailey, 70, of Columbiana, Ohio, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
She was born, Aug. 17, 1942 in Winchester, N. H., the daughter of the late Wesson and Lillian (Hildreth) Taylor.
Before her retirement in 2001, Mrs. Bailey had been a registered nurse at Crandall Medical Center and had been assistant director of nursing.
Lillian graduated from Winchester High School in Winchester, N.H., in 1960, and graduated from Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston in 1963. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana and a member of the Columbiana American Legion Post #290. She was a captain in U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1970.
Her hobbies were pets, raising her grandchildren, crossword puzzles and the Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Bailey, whom she married Nov. 20, 1971; two sons, Ronald (Anna) Bailey Jr. of Salem and Sean Bailey of Columbiana; stepmother, Jacqueline Taylor of Winchester, N.H.; two stepsisters, Diana (Greg) Salomen of Winchester, N.H., and Debra (Gene) Parsons of Winchester, N.H.; a brother, Herbert (Joan) Taylor of Swansy, N.H.; one stepbrother, Dennis Roy of Winchester, N.H.; and two grandchildren, Jack Bailey and Maleah Bailey; and another grandchild on the way.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Wesson Jr. and Eugene Taylor; and a half-brother David Taylor.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem with the Rev. Paul Archdeacon officiating. Military honors will follow the services at the funeral home.
Calling hours were held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
