HANOVERTON - Arla Jean (McGranahan) Reeder, 83, of Hanoverton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2012.
She was born June 15, 1929, to the late Charles Edward and Mary Pearl (Miller) McGranahan in Kensington, Ohio.
Arla Jean belonged to the Lisbon VFW, the Lisbon Eagles and Eastern Star No. #216 in Hanoverton. She was a member of the Hanoverton Christian Church. She was an avid Steelers fan. Arla Jean graduated from Augusta High School.
Her husband, Harry Mervin Reeder, whom she married Sept. 11, 1948, died Nov. 2, 1997.
Arla Jean is survived by two sons, James (Linda) Reeder of Hanoverton and Dan (Carole) Reeder of Mt. Sterling, KY; a granddaughter, Amy (Ben) Worley of Raleigh, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Jay and Will Worley. Also surviving are two step grandchildren, Jennifer Winigman of Alliance and Fred Klose III of Kensington; and four step great-grandchildren, Tyler Winigman, Kierstin Klose, Kelsie Klose and Kenzie Klose.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were a brother and sister-in-law, William R. and Lela McGranahan.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Maple Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
