LISBON - The following action involving criminal cases occurred this week in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court:

Brenda A. Szegedi, 50, McGeehan Road, Lisbon, was sentenced by Judge Scott Washam to probation on a receiving stolen property charge for possessing a stolen Bobcat excavator belonging to Thayer Communication in July 2011. The Bobcat was worth $22,000 but sold to Jessie Webb for $10,000.

Szegedi was ordered to make restitution.

Shannon M. Bell, 31, New Garden Avenue, Salem, was sentenced to probation by Judge Washam on a forgery charge and ordered to make restitution. Bell was accused of forging a stolen check belonging to Noel McKenzie for $3,100 in June 2007.

Lora Lusk, 30, New Garden Avenue, Salem, was sentenced to probation by Judge Washam on forgery charges and ordered to make restitution. Lusk was accused of forging a check from the account of Robert Culp for $744.

Robert E. Stevens, 43, Fox Chase Road, East Liverpool, was sentenced to probation by Judge Washam for burglarizing the home of Glenn and Wendy Smith, Annesley Road, Liverpool Township, in August 2011, and stealing coins and jewerly.

James A. Coleman, 52, Elberon Avenue, Salem, was sentenced to probation by Judge Washam on domestic violence charges, but he is required to serve 56 days in the county jail and another six months at the prison alternative facility in Wintersville. Coleman was accused of punching his teen-age daughter twice in the face in February. The charge was a felony because Coleman had prior convictions for domestic violence.

Robert S. McCauley II, 24, East Eighth Street, East Liverpool, was sentenced to additional probation time for violating his original probation imposed for robbing the BP station in East Liverpool while armed with a knife in 2008.

McCauley violated his probation by admitting he smoke marijuana, failing to find a job, for still owing $952 in court costs, and only paying $10 of the $720 in his probation maintenance fees.

Bank of America v. Floyd and Arlene Sorrell, et al; foreclosure sought against property on West Clark Street, East Palestine.

Patricia E. Chaffin of Negley v. Circle K of East Palestine; Chaffin fell over case of water in the Circle K store in March 2011; $25,000-plus in damages sought.

Huntington National Bank v. David S. Sadler, et al; foreclosure sought against property on Plymouth Place, Salem.

Citimortgage Inc. v. Leroy Essick, et al; foreclosure sought against property on Lowmiller Road, Minera.

Bank of America v. Steven M. Lutz, et al; foreclosure sought against property on East Third Street, Salem.
