Pancake breakfast in Salem
SALEM-The public is invited to an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Concord Presbyterian Church, 10013 S. Salem-Warren Road. Scrambled eggs, waffles, fruit cup and French toast also will be served. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for 4 and under.
Saxon Club Halloween party
SALEM - The Salem Saxon Club at 2008 Newgarden Road will host its annual Halloween party/joint social for members and guests in its heated dance hall at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Fall fest at Parkside Center
COLUMBIANA - Parkside Health Care Center at 930 E. Park Ave. is hosting a fall festival from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Festivities include games, a petting zoo, Chinese auction and food. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. there will be trick-or-treating for ages up to 12 with prizes awarded for best costume. The Columbiana Fire Department will have its safety vehicles on display. Walk for Life on Greenway
LEETONIA - Lifeline of Columbiana County Pregnancy Center will hold its first Walk For Life from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Greenway Trail starting at Washington Street in Leetonia. This is a fund-raising event for Lifeline. Volunteers are needed to participate by collecting pledges and walking to show support.
Lifeline is a life-affirming ministry that has been in Columbiana County for 31 years. It provides free pregnancy testing and baby items for parents who are in an unplanned pregnancy. Lecture at Bond House
CANFIELD - The Canfield Historical Society concludes its fall lecture series with a lecture by Laura Zeh, Canfield Historical Society curator, at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Bond House, 44 W. Main St.
The lecture, titled "Select Pieces from the Canfield Historical Society Collection," will give attendees the opportunity to see and experience a multitude of seldom seen collection pieces.
"The Bond House, home of the Canfield Historical Society, has a relatively small amount of exhibit space in which to feature and display our collection," said Zeh, "But all of the collection in storage is still relevant and important to the institutions mission. The upcoming lecture will give attendees an opportunity to experience, up close, those pieces that may not otherwise ever be on exhibit." Admission is free. Pre-Christmas auctions set
GUILFORD LAKE -Knights of Columbus, CrossRoads Council 13371 is sponsoring two pre-Christmas auctions at the Guilford Ruritan Building located on state Route 172 at Hanna Drive. The auctions begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 10 and Dec. 8.
Licensed Auctioneer Carl Lowther will offer toys, collectibles, tools, candy, etc. Proceeds from the Nov. 10 auction will benefit the local church youth ministry programs. Auction for Pelino family
COLUMBIANA - The students and staff of Crestview are holding a silent auction with the proceeds to benefit the Pelino family. Michelle Pelino is the high school art teacher who is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer. All proceeds will go to the family.
Donations are needed for the silent auction such as woodworking, sewing, knitting, crochet, paintings, jewelry, or anything else homemade.
Viewing and bidding will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 19 during the one-act plays and from 3 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 during parent-teacher conferences. Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. Nov. 20.

Rebel run aids foodbanks
COLUMBIANA - The sixth annual Rebel Run 5K run/walk on Nov. 17 is held to raise funds and gather food items in support of the two local food banks that serve the needy in the Crestview- Columbiana area. The donations from this event will be divided between the the Way Station and the 4 C's (Crestview Churches Community Concerns) to help those who need assistance with providing food items and other necessities for their families.

Canvas print auctioned
COLUMBINANA - Renowned artist Ray Simon is once again donating one of his masterpieces to the Simply DeVine Gala and Auction, a benefit for the Way Station. The 24x 36-inch canvas print, titled "The Crucifixion: Father Forgive Them For They Know Not What They Do," is handpainted and remarked by the artist. It has a retail value of $5,000.
