NORTH LIMA - Marvel L. (Heindel) Houser, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Salem Community Hospital. She had been resident of Copeland Oaks in Sebring for the past four years.

Marvel was born on Jan. 23, 1923, in Waterford, Ohio, the daughter of Earl and Irene Dobbins.

A 1941 graduate of Waterford High School, she married Charles L. Heindel Jr. on June 23, 1942. Marvel was the secretary of their business, Heindel Coal Company, until Chuck became ill in 1982. He passed away on Oct.3, 1985.

Her second husband, John L. Houser, whom she married on April 14, 1988, passed away on Aug. 8, 2006. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in North Lima.

Marvel leaves to cherish her precious memory two brothers, Wayne (Shirley) Dobbins of Stockport and Harry Dobbins of Norman, Okla.; two nieces, Jeryl Manning of McConnelsville and Sheila Winebrenner of Waterford; one nephew, Stanley Dobbins of Beverly, Ohio; a cousin, Sandy Havel of Louisville, Ky.; two stepsons, Delmar (Karen) Houser of Madison, Fla., and Roy (Linda) Houser of Greenford, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Rita (Arnold) Fitzsimmons of New Waterford, Ohio, and Sally Anderson of North Lima, Ohio; 12 step-grandchildren; 29 step-great-grandchildren, and six step-great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Heindel, who passed away on April 16, 1966; a brother, George; a sister, Mae Peters and her husband Jack; a sister-in-law, Aza Dobbins; a sister-in-law, Helen Hesson; and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 27, at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Pastor Renae Meggitt officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

Family and friends are invited to visit to sign the guestbook or to send private condolences.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church in North Lima.
