LISBON - Charles R. Blythe, 74, of Saltwell Road, formerly of East Palestine, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at the Salem Community Hospital where he had been admitted earlier that day.
Born Sept. 15, 1938, in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Russell C. and Dorothy M. (Crowl) Blythe.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Blythe had been employed with the former CAPCO in Columbiana.
Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Blower, whom he married Dec. 22, 1961; four daughters, Tracy Cunning of New Waterford, Teresa Blythe at home, Michelle Mercer of Rogers and Marcie Swagger of Elkton; a son, Walter Pegg of LaPorte, Ind.; two sisters, Martha J. Smith of East Palestine and Dorothy Mae Sennett of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five daughters.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the East Carmel Cemetery with the Rev. Mark McTrustry of the Centenary United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow.
A private family visitation will be held prior to the service.
