Workers from Kusler Masonry of Carnegie, Pa., work on an addition to New Manchester Elementary School on Monday. The school is getting three new pre-K classrooms as part of a $4.7 million renovation project. Other improvements, being paid for by the $37 million bond levy approved by voters in 2010, include a new roof, an elevator and upgraded heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. Allison Elementary School in Chester is undergoing similar renovations. Construction at both schools is expected to continue through the end of the school year. (Photo by Stephen Huba)
