SALEM-Reegan Barnett, a senior at Salem High School, will compete for the title of Miss Ohio Teen USA 2013 on Friday and Saturday in Portsmouth.
She is the daughter of Ronald and Beth (Capel) Barnett of Salem. Her grandparents are Charlotte and Bruce Capel of Salem.
"We are overwhelmed by the response and caliber of all the participants from Ohio," said Melissa Pitchford, executive director of the Miss Universe organization. "There is no better opportunity for ambitious young women out there today. The competition offers young women in the state of Ohio a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to advance their personal and professional goals." The Miss Ohio Teen USA and the Miss Ohio USA pageants offer over $1 million in college scholarships to be awarded to the winners, finalists and semi-finalists.

The final competition, which will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, consists of three segments: evening gown, fitness/swimsuit and the final question.
At 6:15 p.m., the crowning moment will arrive. The winner, Miss Ohio Teen USA, will be announced claiming the title and prize list which includes, travel, wardrobe, college scholarships and most importantly the honor to represent the state of Ohio in the ultimate pageant, Miss Teen USA, which is scheduled to take place next summer.
The preliminary show and competition begins at 8 p.m. Friday at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. Tickets are available through the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts box office at 740-351-3600 and through Ticketmaster.
