Volleyball Club holding tryouts

WARREN - The East Ohio Volleyball?Club is holding tryouts Nov. 11 and 18 at the Warren YMCA. Players in grades 6-8 will try out from 1-3 p.m. Players in grades 9-12 will try out from 3-5 p.m. Players in any grade will try out from 5-6 p.m. For information, call 330-219-1368 or visit www.eovc.org. Club Hollywood tryouts to be held Nov. 11

Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club activities

CHESTER - The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club is having Turkey Shoots at 10 a.m. on Sundays through Nov. 11. Cost per shot is $2, lucky X and $5 per shot money shoots. Factory guns and tubes only. BLHS Athletic Hall of Fame nominations

CALCUTTA - The Beaver Local High School Athletic Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations. Forms can be obtained at www.beaver.k12.oh.us/blhof/hall-fame.html or at the high school office.

Potter Prime Time scheduled for Nov. 21

EAST LIVERPOOL - Potter Prime Time is slated Nov. 21 at Potter Fieldhouse. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. East Liverpool basketball teams in grades 7-12 (boys and girls) as well coaches and cheerleaders will be introduced. The Alumni Basketball Game also returns. Participants must be an ELHS graduate who played varsity boys basketball. Cost to participate is $10 and includes a t-shirt. Boxing back at MTR on Dec. 1

CHESTER - Former world champ Paul "The Pittsburgh Kid" Spadafora (46-0-1, 19KOs) will headline a boxing card at The Harv at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort on Dec. 1. The event is presented by 8-time world champ Roy Jones Jr. in association with TNT Promotions. In the co-feature is Youngstown's Jake "The Bull" Giuriceo (16-1-1, 3KOs). Other fighters scheduled include Billy "Hutch" Hutchinson (4-1-D, 2KOs), "Big Chief" Morgan Fitch (7-0, 3KOs), the pro boxing debut of MMA favorite Joey "The Jack Hammer" Holt, of East Liverpool, a special prelude amateur bout with Steubenville's Angelo Magnone and more to be announced. Base ticket prices are VIP starting at $100, Section A $50, Section B $35, & Bleachers $25. Final turkey shoot being held Sunday
