Former phone operators to meet

SALEM - Former Ohio Bell-Ameritech-AT&T Telephone Operators will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Salem High School '02 to meet

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 2002 will hold its 10-year reunion on Nov. 23. Classmates interested in attending are asked to contact Amanda Jesko Miles (amanda.jesko@gmail.com) for more information.

New Waterford Lions hold meeting

NEW WATERFORD - New Waterford Lions met recently at the community building. Dave Forinash presided. Guests included MacKenzie Daub, seventh-grade student at Crestview School and a member of the traveling softball team. She was sponsored by the club this past year. Also attending was Barbara Sorbin, second vice district governor from Rootstown; and Joe Paulus, immediate past president of the Rootstown Lions Club. Both are promoting new membership and ways to keep new members.

Crestview Leos have 25 members. They participated Nov. 8 in the Veterans Day celebration at the school. The club donated $250 to the Rebel 5-K run and also to the Childrens Angels. Heartland Christian Leos are still in the process of organizing. Eye screening has been done at Heartland Christian School. A report was given by Don Johnson about the progress of the newly formed East Palestine Lions Club.

R-Weigh recognizes weight loss

SALEM - The R-Weigh weight support groups met at 1 and 5 p.m. Monday at the Faith Chapel. A loss of 22 pounds was recorded for the week. Good losers for the week were JoAnne Bogdan and Sylvia Eller. Sandy McGarr, Eleanor Billet and Angie Reichle were the goalies for the week. Patty Mills won the can-do drawing and Rene Haver received the birthday monetary awards. The afternoon group held a Woman's Health Quiz with a question and answer session. Chris Learn presented a program on "Healthy Choices" when eating at restaurants and Linda Lude presented a program on "Every Day, Every Meal Healthy Eating." Members gaining or absent stuffed $1 in their group's turkey to be shared by the designated losers for the month on Nov 26. Losing members kept their $1.

Simplicity Farms to host fund raiser

NEW WATERFORD - Simplicity Farms is hosting a "Party with a Purpose" fund raiser to benefit the Fifth Sparrow Ministry featuring Signature Homestyles products, a Chinese auction and guest speakers. The public is welcome from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46, New Waterford.
