Man pleads guilty to robbing Salem Circle K armed with knife

LISBON - Justin A. Zimmerly pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to aggravated robbery and faces up to an 11-year term in prison and a fine of up to $20,000. Additionally, Zimmerly pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, forgery and possession of drugs. For those charges he faces up to three years in prison and a $7,500 fine. Sentencing for both sets of charges is scheduled for Jan. 17.

According to court documents, Zimmerly used a knife to steal $128 from Circle K in Salem on June 17.

Mykel L. Crooms pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, possessing criminal tools and obstructing official business. Sentencing is Jan. 7. Crooms and others were accused of trespassing in the building of the IGA Supermarket in Salineville and using a hacksaw, pliers, hammer and bolt cutters to dismantle pipes and wiring. Crooms also told police no other people were there, but two others were found.
