Misson Connection Cookie Walk set Dec. 8 at First Friends Church

SALEM - The public is invited to the Mission Connection Cookie Walk from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 at the First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave. A variety of cookies will be available at $4 per dozen. Proceeds will benefit the Ladies Mission Connection and missionaries.

Hazel Circle Cookie Walk planned at Winona United Methodist

WINONA - The Hazel Circle of the Winona United Methodist Church is hosting its annual Cookie Walk and Craft Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 1 at the church, 32114 Winona Road. A wide variety of cookies will be sold for $4 per dozen.

Advent Service of Lessons and Carols planned at St. Columba

YOUNGSTOWN - St. Columba Cathedral at 154 W. Wood St. will present the annual Advent Service of Lessons and Carols at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. The program will feature the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dr. Daniel Laginya, assisted by organist Joseph Petros III and percussionist Dylan Kollat.

Light refreshments will be served in the cathedral hall following the program. Security and free parking will be provided. For more information call 330-744-5233.

Calla Community Church

Cookie Walk scheduled Dec. 8

CANFIELD - Calla Community Church will hold its Christmas Cookie Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the church, 6482 W. Calla Road. Cookies are $4.50 per dozen and can be mixed and matched. Calla Community Church cookbooks will also be sold. All proceeds support the church and its mission work. For information call 330-533-6007.

Weavers to perform at Western Reserve United Methodist

CANFIELD-The public is invited to a concert presented by The Singing Weavers starting at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church. Admission is free.

Jesus the Key Ministry

to sponsor upcoming events

COLUMBIANA- Jesus the Key Ministry is sponsoring the following events. All trips will depart from the First Christian Church in Columbiana.

A dinner show and viewing Christmas lights in Cambridge, Pa. is planned Nov. 27. The bus departs at 9 a.m. and returns at 10 p.m. The cost is $85.

Seats are available for the Gaither's concert in Pittsburgh on Dec. 8. The bus departs at 3 p.m. and returns at 11 p.m. Cost is $60.

Events on Dec. 11 and 12 include "Jonah" at the Sight and Sound Theater, "Home for the Holidays" and a dinner at the American Music Theater and a dinner show at Dutch Apple Theater to see "Swing Christmas." The bus departs at 7 a.m. Dec. 11 and returns at 10:30 p.m. Dec 12. Cost is $269.

Cookie sale planned at Calvary United Methodist Church

NORTH LIMA - The Calvary United Methodist Church of North Lima will hold its annual cookie sale from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 8. Homemade cookies, candies, etc. will be available for you to pack your box. Ready-made trays will also be available. The church is located at 12062 South Ave. For information call 330-549-2588.

'Christmas Story' scheduled for children at Canfield church

CANFIELD - "The Story of Christmas," a captivating telling of the true Christmas story through activities and music geared for children ages 3 to 7, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 8 and 15 at the Canfield Christian Church. Children must be accompanied by and adult. Lunch is included. Cost it $5 for children and free for adults. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 330-533-2246.

'Give Away Day' set at Tri County Church of Christ in Salem

SALEM - The Tri County Church of Christ at 18900 U.S. Route 62 will host a "Give Away Day" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1. Items to be given away include some non-perishable food, clothing, shoes, coats, housewares, toys, games, puzzles, knickknacks, etc. Coffee, cookies and punch will be served and there will be one door prize awarded.

Couple to perform on harp, flute with Lisbon Community Chorus

LISBON - Harpist Darlene MacBenn and her husband Joseph on the flute will be featured as the Lisbon Community Chorus presents its Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25 at the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon. The chorus is under the direction of Tom McKenna. The Kentland String Ensembles will also be playing. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Annual Christmas boutique set at First United Methodist Church

SALEM - The First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway Ave., Salem will hold its second annual Christmas boutique from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 30 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1. Members of the church have contributed new and gently used Christmas decorations and gift items which have been turned into baskets, wreaths and gifts. The Faithful Hearts group will hold a soup and sandwich lunch on Friday featuring a pulled pork sandwich, broccoli cheddar soup and choice of beverage for $5. A cookie walk, also sponsored by the Faithful Hearts, will be held Dec. 1. Homemade cookies and candies will be sold for $4 per dozen or three dozen for $10. All proceeds from the boutique go to the capital improvement campaign.
