LISBON - Larry Van Johns, 64, of Trinity Church Road, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday at his home with his family by his side.
Mr. Johns was born Dec. 31, 1947 in Altoona, Pa., a son of Ivan and the late Ann (Grey) Johns, and had lived in the area since 1972, coming from Pennsylvania.
A U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, Larry worked as a truck driver and as a mechanic. He was also a farmer.
In addition to his father of Piney Flats, Tenn., he is survived by his wife, Kathie (Crawford) Johns, whom he married May 9, 1970; two sons, Larry V. (Dawn) Johns II and Rusty (Sabrina) Johns, both of Lisbon; a sister, Sandra Bowman of Piney Flats, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, 33937 U.S. Route 30, with Pastor Jason Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 120 West County Line Road, Columbiana, Ohio 44408 or to the Columbiana County Veterans Service Office, 7989 Dickey Drive, Suite 1, Lisbon, Ohio 44432.
