Lisbon author to sign books at Poland library Thursday
POLAND- Lisbon author R J Theiss will hold a book signing at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Youngstown Public Library - Poland Branch, 311 S. Main St. He is the author of "Surprise Surprise," the true story of aviation technology pioneer, Shawn Theiss. The Poland branch library has been closed for several weeks due to an odor issue. Greenford Evangelical Lutheran Church to meet mid-week
GREENFORD- Under the general theme of "Supper And A Sermon," the congregation and friends of Greenford Evangelical Lutheran Church will gather for a time of mid-week fellowship and worship on three Wednesday evenings during December. The supper component of the gathering will begin at 6:15 p.m., at which time all those gathered will feast on and fellowship around a carry-in supper. Then at 7 p.m., all will assemble in the Sanctuary for a brief service of worship. The worship component will center on the beautiful "Evensong" by Marty Haugen. Dr. Michael Bennett, the congregation's interim pastor, will present a series of sermons under the following themes: Dec. 5, "Where Was The Savior's Birth Foretold In The Old Testament?"; Dec. 12, "The Revelation Of The Eternal Son Of God"; Dec. 19, "Lord Jesus, Come To Me."

SEBRING- The American Legion Post 76 of Sebring has announced the dates for upcoming fund raisers as follows: steak fry from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday; Swiss Steak dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 19; monthly breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Jan. 6. Fish frys will continue through Easter. Fish lunch is now available.
