Crestview 55, Columbiana 43

COLUMBIANA - Crestview defeated rival Columbiana Tuesday 55-43. Leading the Rebels was Derek Bable with 14 points. Robert Logan tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and five steals, and Austin Eskra added 12 points and four steals.

For Columbiana, Jake DeJong had 15 points. Kyle Bryan added 11.

Crestview won the J.V. game 61-34. Eric Lloyd had 21 points.

Crestview (1-1) plays Friday at Mineral Ridge.

Columbiana (0-2) travels to Western Reserve.

Southeast 56, West Branch 52 OT

BELOIT - West Branch's Matt Meiter sank a bucket at the end of regulation to force overtime against Southeast but the Warriors were unable to prevail in the extra frame falling 56-52.

Meiter led the Warriors with 14 points. Drake Lohnes added 11, and Troy James had 10. Kip DeShields finished with seven points and eight rebounds.

West Branch won the J.V. game 68-32.

West Branch (1-1) hosts Salem Friday.

LISBON - Lisbon held off Leetonia for a 58-55 win Tuesday.

Leading the Blue Devils was Corey Brammer and Austin Rutecki with 14 points each. Matt Spencer added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Josh Craig added 10 points.

For Leetonia, Trent Ferry had 26 points. Cody Valentine added 11.

Lisbon won the J.V. contest 46-39. J.J. Crow had 16 for Lisbon. James Shea tallied 12 for Leetonia.

Lisbon (1-1) hosts United Friday.

Leetonia (1-1) hosts Lowellville.

SEBRING - Sebring bounced back from an opening game loss and a 22-11 first quarter deficit to beat Lordstown 58-53 Tuesday. Dylan Mick led the Trojans with 20 points and five rebounds. Josh Hurford added 15 points and five steals. Kirby Wilt added eight points.

Sebring also won the J.V. contest 33-18. Josh Zmuda had seven points.

Sebring (1-1) hosts Wellsville Friday.

BERLIN CENTER - Western Reserve lost a heartbreaker to Lake Center Tuesday 48-47. Lake Center made two free throws with five seconds left to take the lead, and a Blue Devils shot missed the mark at the buzzer.

For Western Reserve, Nolan Sndyer had 12 points and five rebounds. Tim Cooper added 10 points.

Western Reserve (1-1) begins league play Friday hosting Columbiana.

Heartland Christian 42, Rootstown 30

COLUMBIANA - Heartland Christian opened up a 12-point lead in the first half on the way to a 42-30 win over Rootstown on Tuesday.

The Lions improve to 2-0 on the season as Brandon Crawford had a game-high 12 points and nine rebounds, Jarred Robinson nine points and 10 rebounds and Kyle Burgess eight points, four assists and three steals.

Heartland led 25-13 at halftime and 33-19 after three quarters.

Rootstown got eight points apiece from Connor Formick and Tim Weaver.

Heartland also won the reserve game, 53-30, as Jarred Robinson scored 12 points.

The Lions will host Lake Center on Friday.

Poland 39, South Range 32

POLAND - South Range couldn't muster much offense in a 39-32 loss to Poland Monday.

Leading the Lady Raiders was Lexi Naples with 17 points, four steals and five rebounds. Stevie Taylor also pulled down seven rebounds.

Liz Suess had 12 points for Poland.

South Range (1-2) plays Thursday at Jackson-Milton.

BERLIN CENTER - Mathews topped Western Reserve in girls hoops action Tuesday 65-51. Leading Reserve was Linley Mamonis with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Tory White added 10 points, and April Lude had nine points, four steals and three assists.

Western Reserve (1-3, 1-0 ITCL Tier 2) hosts Columbiana Thursday.
