LISBON - Cory S. Witherow, 26, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to theft, eight counts receiving stolen property and eight counts forgery.
According to court documents, on Aug. 7, Witherow took a pickup belonging to Trevor Neeham and sold it to Six Recycling for $300. In July and August, Witherow had eight checks belonging to another Rhea Tedrow, which he wrote for a total of $1,160. He faces up to 17 and a half years in prison and a fine of $5,000.
Matthew J. Crowl, 24, last known address South Lundy Lane, Salem, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs and two counts of failure to appear. Court documents indicate Crowl had heroin in a loaded syringe in his vehicle center console on Aug. 16, 2011. He then failed to appear in court on June 18 and Aug. 27. He faces up to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine and a five-year license suspension. Sentencing is set for Feb. 8.
