EAST PALESTINE- Maribeth Elick, 93, of East Taggart Street, died at 2:15 a.m. Friday at Covington Community Campus where she had been a patient for the past two days.
She was born in Payne, on May 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Alphus and Clara Cave Gaut, and had resided there until moving to East Palestine in 1952. She and her husband had moved to the Richmond, Va., area in 1969, returning here in 1982. She had been employed at the former Reisman's Clothing Store for a period of time.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Her husband, George J. Elick, whom she married on July 15, 1939, preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2001.
She is survived by three sons, Mark (Candy) Elick and Myron (Stephanie) Elick, both of East Palestine, and Michael (Hope) Elick, Jeffersonville, Ind.; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from noon until 1 p.m. Monday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at the conclusion of calling hours, 1 p.m., with her minister, Rev. Mark McTrustry, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
