LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court Monday, a Jan. 17 pretrial was set for Nathan E. Steer, 26, U.S. Route 62, Damascus, charged with two counts assault and one count each of criminal damaging, driving under a child support suspension, obstructing official business and a seat belt violation. One assault charge is from an alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend, Ashley Metzgar, in her home on Sept. 28. The second is from allegedly going after Stephanie L. Reed on June 24 when she said she was calling 911 and throwing her phone to the pavement.
Dannie R. Hawthorne, 52, Indian Run Drive, Canfield, was fined $500 driving under a child support suspension amended from driving under suspension.
Brian W. Yeager, 50, Salineville Road, Mechanicstown, was fined $350, had his license suspended for six months and required 25 hours community service for marked lanes and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.
Carolyn L. Rutan, 39, Canton, was fined $300 for driving under suspension and driving under FRA suspension.
Ryan N. Nyardy, 32, Union Street, Columbiana, was fined $200 for squeal and peel and unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.
Chassity Wilson, 23, Greentree Place, Lisbon, was fined $200 for wrongful entrustment.
Khbair A. Tisdale, 31, Gaston Place, East Liverpool, was fined $160 for driving without a valid license, seat belt violation and failure to yield.
James N. Harlin, 41, Peninsula, was fined $150 for speeding.
William J. Mence III, 44, Turtle Creek, Pa., was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from a stop sign violation.
Savannah M. Young, 26, East South Range Road, North Lima, was fined $130 for speeding and driving under FRA suspension amended from driving under suspension.
A felony passing bad checks charge against Michael J. Bilas, 53, Pleasant Valley Court, Salem, was dismissed with prejudice. Bilas had been accused of writing a $3,185 check to Chris Marquis for diesel fuel in June and the check bounced.
A Dec. 17 pretrial was set for James R. Ray Jr., 32, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing his fiance, Tabetha Phillis, by the throat, choking her and banging her head off the floor several times.
A Dec. 20 pretrial was set for Gary Mason Jr., 38, Nevada Street, Wellsville, charged with theft, obstructing official business, criminal mischief and aggravated menacing. Court documents allege on Dec. 2 Mason broke into a vehicle in the trailer park on state Route 39 in Wellsville to take change and then ran from police. Additionally, on Dec. 4 Mason allegedly sent a threatening text message to Brandon J. Zepernick in Perry Township.
A Jan. 3 pretrial was set for Joshua Ryan Ayers, 22, Aliquippa, Pa., charged with OVI first offense, speeding, seat belt, drug paraphernalia and possession of instruments to ingest or inhale a controlled substance.
A Jan. 7 pretrial was set for Brian S. Goodlin, 30, Chester, W.Va., charged with falsification for allegedly giving police the name and social security of his brother William L. Goodlin, when questioned by a deputy on Sunday. He was then arrested by the sheriff's department on a warrant under the name of William L. Goodlin II.
