COLUMBIANA - Donald R. Peppel, 77, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Mr. Peppel was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Fairfield Township, a son of Rollie and Rita Reash Peppel and had lived in this area all of his life.
Donald owned and operated Peppel Milk Transport and was a member of Zion Hill Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joann Catherine Little; three daughters, Debra (Lars) Skotte of Cowan, Tenn., Donna (Mark) Nash of Macon, Ga. and Deanne "DJ" (Ronald) Gesaman of Huntsville, Ala.; a son, David "Pete" Peppel of Greenford; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Wayne Peppel, two sisters, Leora Brathuhn and Winifred Gorby, and two brothers, Paul and Blair Peppel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, Columbiana, with Reverend John Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, and 10-11a.m. Friday at the church.
