Kathryn “Elaine” Exten

COLUMBIANA - Kathryn "Elaine" Exten, 90, formerly of Howard Street, died Monday morning at her home in Warminster, Pa.

Born June 24, 1922, in Lisbon, she was the daughter of Arthur L. and Kathryn Morris Evans Sr.

Mrs. Exten was a teacher for the Fairfield/New Waterford schools and then the Lisbon School District. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana.

Her husband, Robert E. Exten Sr., whom she married June 14, 1947, died June 8, 2000.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Robert (Debra) Exten Jr. of Mansfield, Retired Lt. Col. Arthur Exten of Limestone, Tenn., and Raymond (Melissa) Exten of Chalfont, Pa.; nine granddaughters; one grandson; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home with Clarence Mansfield, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery where Eastern Star services will be held.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where an Amaranth service will be held at 7 p.m. Calling hours also will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
