Carl A. Peterson

NEW WATERFORD - Carl A. Peterson, 87, of Metz Road, died at 4 a.m. Sunday at Salem Community Hospital.

Mr. Peterson was born Nov. 16, 1925 in Meadville, Pa., a son of the late Samuel David and Harriet May Randall Peterson and had lived in this area the past 63 years coming from Hornell, N.Y.

He was a laborer and welder and worked for Republic Steel in Youngstown, at Sunny Side in Beloit and more recently at NRM in Leetonia. He was a member of East Palestine Church of the Nazarene and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, the former Wilda Ploss, whom he married May 29, 1948; two daughters, Pamela (Douglas) Price of East Palestine and Michelle (Scott) Brennan of Ravena, N.Y.; two sons, Carl David (Marie) Peterson and Richard Harlow Peterson, both of Columbiana; a sister, Imogene Carpenter; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene with his daughter, Pastor Pamela Price, and Pastor Brian Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine handled the arrangements.
