M. Alpheus Rohrer

COLUMBIANA - M. Alpheus Rohrer, 90, North Manchester, Ind., died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, Ind.

He was born Jan. 10, 1922 on a farm near North Lima, the son of the late Samuel E. Rohrer,and Mary (Martin) Rohrer

He was a farmer and then a teacher, teaching physics and chemistry for a total of 34 years. He retired in 1988 from South Range High School.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Rupel.,whom he wed July 1, 1950; four children, Stanley (Drema) Rohrer of Beavercreek, Edith Rohrer of Warsaw, Ind., Thelma (James Adams) Rohrer of North Manchester, Ind., and Norman (Melinda) Rohrer of San Jose, Calif.; and four grandsons.

He was a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren in Columbiana and attended the Manchester Church of the Brethren congregation. He moved to North Manchester, Ind., in 2010, from North Lima.

A memorial service for Alpheus Rohrer will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Ind., with visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate.

A memorial service this summer at Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, will be announced at a later date.

Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery, Columbiana, OH.
