- A Peace Valley Road, New Waterford, man reported Tuesday seeing a Jeep on his property and asking the occupants what they were doing. He was told they were checking tracks for the railroad company, but when he asked for identification, they left. The railroad company later told him it had no representatives in that area. He provided deputies with a license plate number which returned to a residence in Rockwood, Pa., not a business.

- A 10th Street, Wellsville, woman reported receiving a postcard saying she won a $100 Walmart gift card. When she called the number on the card, the person who answered tried to sell her a watch and would not give her the gift card. Walmart officials said it was a scam.

- A Darner Road, Lisbon, man reported receiving a $4,965 check from American Direct Lottery and being instructed to cash it because he'd won $250,000. It was determined to be a scam.

- A Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, man reported he has paid rent and lived with his brother two years and now his brother has told him to leave. Deputies advised him this is a civil matter but that his brother would have to properly evict him.

- A Wheathill, East Palestine, woman reported being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, who keeps calling her. Deputies contacted him and cautioned him if he persists, he can be charged. The man agreed to stop calling.

- Responding Thursday night to a report of a man flagging down cars at Depot and Beacon Light roads, deputies found a man who said his father became irate and he was afraid, so he wanted to leave. His father was supposed to take him home but wouldn't, so deputies transported him to his East Liverpool home due to the time of night and weather conditions.

- Deputies responded to an apartment house on Rose Drive, Lisbon, twice between Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, Paul Raymond Crosser, 24, Apt. 46, reported he was home with a friend when someone knocked on the door and when he refused to open it, George Faulkner Jr., 26, Apt. 8, kicked in the door and came after him. Matthew Faulkner, 20, Apt. 8, also came in and they both grabbed him, Crosser reported. A third man, Robert Crespo, 26, Roberts Road, Leetonia, reportedly pulled Matthew off of Crosser and tried to break up the fight. When they left, they reportedly broke both mirrors and a tail light on Crosser's vehicle. On Thursday, they went back to the Rose Drive apartment building where they found Matthew Faulkner being treated by a KLG ambulance crew. He told deputies Crespo had punched him in the nose for no reason. Crespo said Faulkner swung at him first and he was acting in self defense. This incident reportedly was related to the incident the previous night at Crosser's. Information will be presented to the county prosecutor for possible charges. Faulkner was transported to Salem Community Hospital.

- A Bye Road, East Palestine, woman reported hearing several rapid gun shots Thursday. Responding deputies also heard eight to 10 rapid gun shots but could not locate the source.
