Beavers win Lorain holiday tourney

LORAIN - The Beavers got a late Christmas present on Saturday.

Beaver?Local earned a first-place finish in the two-day Lorain Nationwide Holiday Classic.

The Beavers started the day in second place, but overtook Norwalk St. Paul to claim the title.

Beaver Local was first with 243.5 points, followed by Norwalk St. Paul (225.5) and Westlake in the 15-team field.

The Beavers crowned three champions.

Josh Henderson won the 113-pound title with a pin of Norwalk St. Paul's Joe Livengood in 1:35. Henderson, now 18-0, also picked up his 100th career win.

At 132 pounds, Ron Foster (17-1) took first place with an 8-5 decision over Clearview's Michael Hollingsworth.

In the heavyweight division, Cody Martsolf was tops after defeating Copley's Chris Burke, 8-4.

Morley Marsden came one win away from a 160-pound title, falling by pin to Twinsburg's Alex Keller in 5:44.

Also placing for Beaver Local was:?Jack Dawson (5th, 106), Dustin Martsolf (4th, 120), Clayton Davis (6th, 126), Daniel Hasson (4th, 138), Josh Barber (5th, 145), Dan Lattanzio (4th, 170) and Cody Green (5th, 220).

The Beavers will be back in action on Jan. 3 at East Liverpool.
