Jean Chain Deibel

ALLIANCE - Jean Chain Deibel, 90, of Alliance, formerly of Beloit, died at 9:32 p.m. Dec. 27 at Altera Sterling House of Alliance.

She was born June 20, 1922, in Oil City, Pa., the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabelle (Burgi) Marshall.

Mrs. Deibel retired from the Transue and Williams Stamping Plant in 1983, where she was employed as a secretary.

Survivors include her four daughters, Terrie (Bruce) Rohrer of Alliance, Oleta (Jeff) Evans of Jackson Township, Kathy (David) Gano of Salem and Artie (Michael) Geiger of Homeworth; two sons, Thomas (Kathleen) Chain of Malvern and James (Eleanor) Chain of Columbus; a stepson, John Deibel of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James C. Chain, in 1979; and her second husband, William Deibel in 1997.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Ave. Memorial services follow at 7 p.m. with Thomas Chain officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarriorsproject.org).
