Deerfield dance canceled

DEERFIELD - The Deerfield Historical Society's first Monday dance on Jan. 7 has been canceled. The regular dance schedule returns on Jan. 21.

Area Singles to meet

LISBON - Area Singles will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at Pondi's in Lisbon. The group also plans to meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 16 at Pizza Hut in Columbiana, on Jan. 23 at Long John Silvers in Salem and on Jan. 30 at Unity Roadhouse in Unity.

Country music jam set

COLUMBIANA - The public is invited to a country music jam from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Jan. 17 at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.

Salem UCT to meet

SALEM - Members of Salem United Commercial Travelers, Council #590, plan to meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at Perkins restaurant. The business session follows.

Senior Citizens to meet

COLUMBIANA - Columbiana Senior Citizens plan to meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 8 in the Upper Room. A pizza luncheon will be served. Members are reminded to bring a sack lunch to the meeting at 10 a.m. Jan. 22 at the same place.

Committee meeting set

COLUMBIANA - The Restoration, Renovation, and Beautification Committee of Columbiana will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Columbiana Womens Club. The committee is seeking new members for its work for the coming year. Interested parties from Columbiana and the surrounding areas are invited to attend. The committee's previous projects have included the renovation of the the town square and the installation of the new Columbiana sign on Route 14.

R-Weigh holds meetings

SALEM - The non-profit R-Weigh weight groups will hold meetings with weigh-ins from 1 to 1:30 and 5 to 6 p.m. on Mondays beginning Jan. 7 at the First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave. All monies paid into R-Weigh is returned to the members, paying $1 per pound plus monetary contests and incentives to lose their weight. Members can use any diet of their choice.

R-Weigh suggests the American Heart Association exchange diet, lifestyle changes and portion control with Carol Held, a registered certified dietician, co-leading the group. Former members are welcome with all fines forgiven. New members may visit at no charge. For more information call 330-332-1078.
