Kimberly Anne Walker becomes bride of Brian Koons

Kimberly Anne Walker and Brian Koons were united in marriage on Sept. 22 at the First Friends Church which was originally built by their grandfathers, Lloyd Walker and Archie Bricker. Pastor Pete Fowler officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Neil and Sharon K. Walker, 1803 state Route 344, Salem. The bridegroom's parents are Ken and Sue Kyser of 805 W. Pidgeon Road, Salem.

Nuptial music was provided by vocalists Gary and Cheryl Kekel, Gary Kekel at the piano, flutist Connie Price and harpist Deborah Holzworth.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride appeared in a taffeta gown from the Mori Lee Voyage Collection. The strapless neckline was edged with beading that flowed to the back of the gown in unique patterns of cut-out straps. The front had pleats across the low waist bodice, pleats on the sides of the dress that were embellished with beaded broaches, adding to the flare of the skirt and train that had miniature covered buttons.

Her bouquet was a cascade of Casablanca lilies, white dendrobian orchids, calla lilies and guava roses.

Kari Newburn of Salem, the bridegroom's sister, was the matron of honor.

Attendants were Liz Walker of Peninsula, the bride's sister -in-law; Jessica Waskin of Canton; and Marie Hovanic of Salem.

Haley Walker, the bride's niece, was the flower girl.

Christian Chappell of Salem served as best man.

Ushers included Austin Koons and Cameron Koons, both of Canton, the bridegroom's sons; Scott Walker of Peninsula, the bride's brother; Kyle Kyser of Salem, the bridegroom's brother; and Dave Garcia of Cleveland.

Travis Walker, the bride's nephew, was the ring bearer.

Approximately 200 guests attended the reception at Das Dutch village Inn in Columbiana. Katie Hendershot presided at the guest book.

The couple honeymooned at Jamaica Sandals Resort and reside in Canton.

The bride received a bachelor's degree in dietetics from Youngstown State University. She is a registered dietitian and certified lactation counselor and supervisor at the Canton City Health Department WIC Division.

The bridegroom is a journeyman concrete finisher with Akron Local 109.
