- Firefighters were called at 3:04 a.m. Thursday by an alarm company for a fire alarm at the Salem Area Visiting Nurses Association building in the 700 block of East Third Street. They found no alarm going off in the building. A keyholder arrived and the building was searched with everything found to be okay.
