Robert "Bob" and Peggy Kornbau of 562 Franklin St., Salem, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29 with their children and grandchildren.
The couple was united in marriage on Dec. 29, 1962, by the Rev. William Longsworth at the First United Methodist Church in Salem.
Mrs. Kornbau is the daughter of the late Calvin and Margaret (Faloon) Sell. Mr. Kornbau is the son of Hazel Boop of Girard and the late Joseph Kornbau.
The Kornbaus have three children, Tammy (Kevin) Hull of Leetonia, Steve Kornbau of Beloit and Kris (Crystal) Kornbau of Salem. They also have eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Brandon, Allyson, Sarah, Mackenzie, Matthew and Reagan.
Mr. Kornbau served in the Army and then was employed by Crane Deming Co. for 38 years before retiring in 2005. He is currently employed as school patrol for the city of Salem. Mrs. Kornbau was employed by Essex of Salem I for 31 years before retiring in 2012.
