Staff Reports , Salem News

LISBON - Another new lawsuit was filed in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court by four landowners seeking out of gas and oil leases.

Denise D. Fonner, Carlisle Road, Lisbon, the owner of 27.5 acres; Emma D. Carlile-Blevins, Carlisle Road, Lisbon, with 10.12 acres; Alan F. Carlile, Carlisle Road, Lisbon, 10.1 acres and Joseph and June Simballa, Duke Road, East Liverpool, 25 acres, are all named in a lawsuit filed against Chesapeake Appalachia.

It is not listed on the court file if the lease property being contested is located near their homes or not.

The landowners claim leases were originally signed with Great Lakes Energy Partners in 2007. However, the property owners are now requesting the leases be rescinded and pronounced expired.
