Local students to travel to Europe with People to People Ambassador program

January 20, 2013
Salem News

More than 30 local students are preparing to travel to Europe this summer as part of President Eisenhower's People to People Student Ambassador program. Students were interviewed in November following information meetings, receiving recommendations and evaluations from their teachers and other adults, and are now doing fund raising for the 19 day learning experience. They will be meeting monthly with their leaders, Gary Reel and Harold Wilson, veteran Austintown educators, where they will learn about the countries to be visited and do team building activities. Both groups will spend time traveling from Paris to Rome, visiting France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy.
