Ice cold winds and a light snow tore through heavy-hearted firefighters as they stood at attention and gave a final salute as the casket bearing Jim Tingle passed in front of them in Leetonia Monday morning. Firefighters from Leetonia, Columbiana, East Palestine and Winona gathered for the "Last Call" service for Tingle. The funeral procession went from the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home and through the village of Leetonia to Oakdale Cemetery. He began his volunteer firefighting career in 1958 with the Washingtonville Fire Department and, moving to the Leetonia Fire Department in 196,9 he served there until his retirement in 2008.
