Spaghetti dinner served Saturday
EAST ROCHESTER - A spaghetti dinner will be served from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the New Alexander Christian Church. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 10.
Pancake breakfast planned Sunday
HOMEWORTH - The Homeworth Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the fire station at 4354 Middle St. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12.
Benefit breakfast set in Sebring
SEBRING - A benefit breakfast is slated from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the American Legion on California Avenue. Proceeds will be given to the Sebring Chapter of V-Twin Cruisers. The cruisers are a motorcycle club in Sebring that has been involved in giving to those in need and will continue giving. The all-you-can eat buffet includes coffee and juice for $7. There will be a 50/50 drawing.
The monthly steak fry is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 9 at the legion. Porterhouse, strip and ribeye steaks are offered, along with a baked potato, bread, all-you-can-eat salad bar, and coffee. Carryouts are available by calling 330-938-9082.
A fish fry is held at noon and from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday. Lunch offers fish, fries and rolls for $7. The all-you-can-eat fish dinner includes cole slaw, fries and rolls for $8.50.
'Les Miserables' auditions planned
SALEM - Spotlight Players will hold auditions for the musical "Les Miserables," the Ohio community theater premier of the complete adult version of the show. Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 3 and 5 at the Salem Masonic Temple, 788 E. State St. All roles are open. A large ensemble will be needed as well. Auditions are open to all adults and ages 14 and up. Also needed are two girls and a boy between the ages of 8 and 11 for prominent roles in the show.
Those auditioning should prepare an entire song that best displays their vocals. An accompanist will be provided. You may also use a CD without vocals. A CD player will be provided. Initial rehearsals will be held in the Youngstown area, prior to moving to Salem for the final weeks and performances. Performances run June 14-30. Stroke topic at Alliance lunch
ALLIANCE - Alliance Community Hospital is hosting a free community luncheon titled "Brain Attack ... Life After a Stroke," to be presented by ACH Center for Rehabilitation Medical Director Karen Gade-Pulido, M.D. The luncheon begins at noon Feb. 8 in conference room 1-A at the hospital at 200 E. State St.
Dr. Gade-Pulido is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, electrodiagnostic medicine and undersea and hyperbaric medicine.

Storytimes set at Lisbon library
LISBON - Lisbon's Lepper Public Library will offer storytimes in February and March. Preschool storytimes begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays. Family programs will be presented at 6 p.m. each Thursday. All storytimes include a variety of stories, music, games, and crafts.

New name for Care Center
SALEM - The Salem Care Center has a winner in its "Name the Facility Contest." After the company received an overwhelming response to its contest, chosen was "Circle of Care Healthcare and Rehab Center." Renovations are in progress at the facility. The public is invited to the dedication ceremony which is planned tentatively for the first week in March. The winner has been notified and will be the guest of honor. Tours will also be available. Starting in March, Circle of Care will offer free blood pressure and glucose testing from 1 to 3 p.m. every Friday.
