Sandra (Shoemaker) Deffenbaugh

LEETONIA - Sandra (Shoemaker) Deffenbaugh, 56, of Leetonia, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday morning, Feb. 5. 2013.

She was born Sept. 26, 1956, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Melvin and Alma Jean (Snyder) Shoemaker.

Sandra worked in restaurants in the area and had attended Springfield Local High School in Petersburg, Ohio.

Sandra enjoyed spending time with her animals. She would bring any animal into her home.

Her husband, Carl Deffenbaugh, whom she married March 17, 1995, survives her along with two sons, Paul (Alicia) McCoy of Salem, and Steven Baddeley of Youngstown; stepchildren, Marie and Mitch Deffenbaugh of Leetonia; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy (Jim) Jackson of Salem and Essie ("Art") Trehaine of Austintown; a stepbrother, Robert T. Lockard of Unity; and several stepbrothers and sisters.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Dan Shoemaker and three sisters, Cindy, Carol and Diana.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Stark Memorial Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses.
