MCCTC students hosting hair, nail-a-thon
CANFIELD -The junior cosmetology class at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will host its annual fund raiser, "The Hair and Nail-a-thon," from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at The Salon at MCCTC.
Junior students will be offering haircuts, hairstyling, manicures and pedicures. All services are $10 each. In addition to the salon services, the students will also hold a bake sale during this event. MetroParks offering children's gardening
CANFIELD - Mill Creek MetroParks will offer a children's hands-on gardening program this summer to children 8 years and older or those who have completed second grade. Weekly classes will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. each Wednesday from June 12 through August at the MetroParks Farm.
In preparation for the growing season, additional classes are scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. March 23, April 20, May 18 and June 1 at the farm.
Celebrating 21 years of growing gardeners, vegetables and smiles, Veggie Gardens is a busy summer of planting, harvesting and gardening experience. Children have fun while learning where food comes from. Each child will have a 3x10-foot garden to tend all summer long at the MetroParks Farm. Cost is $85 for a Mahoning County residents and $95 for non-residents. To register call Fellows Riverside Gardens at 330-740-7116.
